OKC Officer on Leave After Early-Morning Confrontation with SuspectAn Oklahoma City police officer has been placed on administrative leave after opening fire on a suspect during a confrontation in OKC. The incident began around 3:10 a.m. when officers responded to a disturbance.According to police, the suspect was shouting and behaving aggressively. The officer attempted to de-escalate the situation, but the suspect retaliated by throwing bricks and wood.In response, the officer fired at the suspect, striking him.The suspect was taken to a hospital. The officer, identified as Sgt. Christopher Skinner, reportedly sustained minor injuries from debris and has been placed on leave pending internal and criminal investigations.Authorities say the suspect faces a charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a police officer.
