Police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred this morning at around 4:30AM on August 3, 2021.

The CCTV camera at Homestretch Avenue, Georgetown, Guyana, shows the moments a drunk man was hit by a car at a high rate of speed.

The car (#PSS4025) was driven by Delroy Dominique D'Aguiar, a 29-year-old of Charlestown, Georgetown, and the pedestrian who was hit is, Melissa Lewis, 23-year-old of La Penitence, Georgetown.

Police inquiries disclosed that the motorcar (#PSS4025) was proceeding east on the northern drive lane of Homestretch Avenue at an alleged fast rate of speed.
