A man with an outstanding federal warrant was arrested with a loaded firearm in Seattle Saturday after running away from police.

Officers with the Seattle Police Department (SPD) Community Violence Task Force recognized a man police said they had prior contact with in the area of 23rd Avenue South and South Jackson Street on June 24.

The 31-year-old man, who had an outstanding felony warrant, ran from officers when they tried to arrest him, police said.

Police said they saw what appeared to be a handgun in the man's waistband, which he grabbed at one point during the brief chase. Officers eventually caught the man and took him into custody.
