A disqualified “Asian” driver plows into a blind man, and his carer, in Birmingham before fleeing.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, the woman was hospitalised with serious injuries, police say.

Harinderpal Athwal, 41, from Oldbury, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, and causing death by driving while disqualified and uninsured. He is also accused of failing to stop following a crash.
