Police released surveillance footage of an explosion that leveled part of a Motel 6 in Bremerton, WA on 18/08/15. Authorities believe that a gas leak caused the explosion, and detectives are investigating the possibility that a person jumping out the window of a room prior to the blast may have damaged a gas line. The explosion left a Cascade Natural Gas employee who was investigating the gas meter critically injured with a fractured spine, multiple lacerations and second- and third-degree burns. No other casualties were reported, in part due to a decision by the motel's acting manager to evacuate the building minutes before the blast.
