A tricycle loaded with steel pipes collided with a car at a road crossing, sending the steel pipes flying in the air and leaving the two vehicles seriously damaged, in Guizhou Province, southwest China.

The accident happened on Wednesday night in Liupanshui City, Guizhou Province, as the tricycle which was making a left turn was hit by a black car which was driving straight at the moment.

The head of the car was deformed but the driver was not injured. The tricycle driver was hit by a steel pipe in the head and was later sent to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

"In this case, the tricycle driver violated the rule on loading and will lose one point and will be fined 100 yuan. And the Audi car driver tried to overtake at a zebra crossing and caused the accident. He will be fined 150 yuan and lose three points," said Zhao You, traffic police officer in the city.
