A knife-wielding man was caught on camera trying to stab a police officer twice after he was confronted outside a house.

PC Alex Prentice and PC Debbie Wishart approached Lee Vickers, 37, outside a terraced house in a council estate in Corby, Northamptonshire on 25 March last year.

They told Vickers to drop the eight-inch knife he was carrying, but he reacted aggressively and brandished the blade at PC Prentice, yelling: ‘Come on! Come on then!’

In footage captured by PC Prentice’s body-cam, Vickers twice tries to stab the officer before making a run for freedom. PC Prentice follows him, tackles him to the floor and the pair arrest him.
