A man has been sentenced to three year’s imprisonment after he was caught on CCTV repeatedly stamping on his victim’s head. Dean Brown, 23, was playing football on a communal green when the ball hit the window of a flat nearby. The owner went down to speak with Brown but a fight ensued. Brown picked up a hammer and swung it at the 40-year-old victim, forcing him to the ground. He then repeatedly stamped and punched him on the head. Police attended the scene and the victim man was taken to hospital for treatment and Brown was arrested on suspicion of GBH and possession of an offensive weapon. He denied the offence but was found guilty at court on Wednesday 28 October.Detective Constable Rebecca Adams, from Bromley CID, said: "This started off as a neighbour dispute that quickly escalated into violence. The victim was unable to assist police but thanks to the CCTV recovered we were able to prosecute Brown. "The victim was extremely lucky not have suffered more serious injuries. It was a joint effort by the police and CPS to bring Brown to justice."
