Police identified the officer only as Officer Remmers, a 7-year-veteran of the Baltimore County Police Department, who is assigned to the Pikesville Precinct. He has not been involved in any previous shooting incidents, officials said.Officers were called just before 11 p.m. Friday to the 4600 block of Debilen Circle for a disturbance call.Officers knocked on the door of the apartment, which was the source of the call.Police said a man answered the door with a knife in his hand. After exchanging words, the man moved towards the officers in a threatening manner, and one of the officers fired his service weapon at the suspect, police said.The man suffered a single wound to the upper body. He was taken to Sinai Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to survive, police said.The suspect shot in the incident was identified as 48-year-old Bryant Junious Palmer, police said. Palmer lived in the apartment where the incident occurred. He has been charged via an arrest warrant with three counts of first-degree assault and related charges, police said. Bail information and Palmer’s current condition are not known at this time, police said.Remmers was placed on routine administrative leave.
