Seattle - A Seattle police officer has been placed on administrative leave after firing his weapon multiple times at a knife-wielding suspect near Judkins Park.Police said three officers were responding to a domestic violence incident Sunday afternoon when a suicidal man ran toward them with a kitchen knife.Police said the man was chasing his partner with the chopping knife in the 1900 block of South Dearborn Street.The suspect hid and re-emerged when police arrived, running at the officers with weapon in hand. After shooting the man, officers immediately began life-saving efforts and called the Seattle Fire Department.The officer who fired his weapon has been placed on administrative leave, per Seattle police policy. He will remain on leave for the duration of the investigation. The suicidal suspect was transported to Harborview. He is in critical condition. No officers were injured. Police are investigating and will release more information as it becomes available.
