A female motorcyclist was seriously injured in a head-on collision with a Lamborghini on Shek O Road yesterday.The 26-year-old motorcyclist, Lee, believed to be a holder of learner's license, was heading for Shek O near Cape D'Aguilar Road at high speed at around 8.16am yesterday at the time.She collided with a Lamborghini heading for Chai Wan at a bend after losing control and crossing over into the opposite lane, causing her to be catapulted into the air and ending up on the road.Another car behind Lee also rammed her motorcycle which fell in the middle of the two lanes, but fortunately did not hit her.Several drivers stopped to check on the injured and call the police.Lee was conscious when sent to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital in Chai Wan where she was admitted in a serious condition with limb and hip injuries.The 32-year-old Lamborghini driver suffered minor injuries on his leg. The front part of the sports car was also damaged with its right rearview mirror loosened.Traffic was busy after the accident and the Transport Department implemented a one-lane-two-way traffic arrangement until 10.23am after the motorcycle was towed away.Ringo Lee Yiu-pui, president of Hong Kong Automobile Association, said Shek O Road is not suitable for drivers with a learner's license to practice on as it is narrow with many bends, and accidents may occur as learner drivers lack experience.
