Chennai: A woman who ran a vegetable shop was brutally hacked to death in Chennai's Thiruvottiyur. The husband, who tried to stop him, also received a barrage of cuts on his head. The man who was cut and escaped was caught by the public and handed over to the police. Shocking information has been revealed in the preliminary investigation. Mari (55) hails from Tiruvottiyur Sannathi Street, Chennai. His wife is Gauri (50). Both of them were running a shop selling vegetables on the road in the same area. In this situation, a person who came to their shop this evening took out a knife that he had hidden and slashed both the husband and wife.

Gauri was seriously injured and died on the spot. Mari also suffered stab wounds to her head and hand.
