The unnamed man had to be rushed to hospital after his hand was torn open and he suffered severe burns in the freak accident which happened as he was celebrating the New Year with his pals.

Devastating footage shows the moment the man is engulfed in bright white light which explodes right in his face and flooring him instantly.

The group of friends can be seen running away from their pal as he is about to light up a load of fireworks.

Seconds later, the fateful moment happens as the pyrotechnic explodes and he falls to the ground.

His panicking friends then rush screaming towards him to see if he is ok.

It is believed the man had tried to light the fireworks the wrong way and that they might have been professional pyrotechnic ones which require an electrical device to be set off and not an open flame.
