Van native driver claims police intervention in Izmir: "They threw me to the ground and beat me"

Vahap Akmaz, from Van, stated that he was fined 240,000 TL for driving without a license during a traffic stop in the Bostanlı district of Izmir, and claimed that he was beaten after an argument with police officers.

Akmaz alleged that despite stating that he suffers from COPD, he was thrown to the ground by four police officers and fainted during the intervention.
