Newly released footage shows the aftermath and brutal injuries a ESPN broadcaster sustained after being thrown out of his RV on California highway. ESPN sportscaster Cordell Patrick and his wife were traveling on Highway 14 from Newhall to their home in Valencia on Monday when the accident happened. Patrick later explained while lying in a hospital bed that the pair was only 10 minutes away from their home when he had unbuckled his seatbelt to use the toilet. While he was standing, he noticed that his wife had dozed off and the RV was going in the wrong direction. By the time Patrick ran to get ahold of the steering wheel, the motor home hit an upcoming divider and sent the sportscaster tumbling out a window, into the carpool lane on the southbound carriageway outside Newhall.
