Turkey July 28 2026Security camera footage has emerged of the horrific incident in Yalova's Çiftlikköy district, in which 49-year-old Gül Nihal Akçal shot and killed real estate agent Enes Vasfi Yerlikaya during an argument before committing suicide with the same weapon. Following the incident, a past love story emerged.The incident occurred on the evening of July 28 in a real estate office located in the Siteler Neighborhood of Yalova's Çiftlikköy district. An argument broke out for an as-yet-unknown reason between Gül Nihal Akçal, who went to the office, and the real estate agent Enes Vasfi Yerlikaya. As the argument quickly escalated and spiraled out of control, Akçal drew a handgun she had brought with her and opened fire on Yerlikaya. While Yerlikaya collapsed to the ground covered in blood after being hit by the bullets, Akçal turned the same weapon on herself and ended her life.Upon being alerted by local residents who heard the gunshots, police and medical teams were quickly dispatched to the scene. During their initial examination, medical personnel determined that both Yerlikaya and Akçal had died at the scene. Following detailed crime scene investigations conducted by police teams inside and around the office, the bodies were transferred to the morgue of the Yalova Training and Research Hospital for autopsies.Significant details emerged during the large-scale investigation launched by police teams. The investigation revealed that the deceased, Gül Nihal Akçal and Enes Vasfi Yerlikaya, were former partners and that both individuals were married.
