Woman made a fatal mistake while riding her scooter, a mistake that cost her life. After overtaking a truck carrying a shipping container, she merged directly in front of it, right into the driver’s blind spot. When she had to brake, the truck did not react at all because the driver could not see her, and it ran her over.

The woman suffered injuries incompatible with life and died at the scene. Her intestines and brain were forced out of her body under the weight of the truck. A witness recording the aftermath video knew there was no need to attempt first aid, as there was no way to bring her back.

The most important lesson to take away from this incident is that trucks have very large blind spots – both on the sides and directly in front of the cab. If you are riding a bicycle, scooter, or motorcycle, you are among the most vulnerable road users and can be overlooked very easily. It is crucial to anticipate and think on behalf of other drivers.
