Around September 17, 2021, a longboarder and motorcyclist crashed on a rural street in Nairobi, Kenya. Aroni, the longboarder, frequently rides downhill and posts videos of his experiences to instagram (downhill254). One day, he went to ride as normal. Before starting, he changed streets because there was a little too much fog at the bottom of the road. At this next road, he did not check for any traffic. He began to ride, and at some point along the way, a motorcycle rider cut a corner and collided with Aroni. The motorcycle mainly hit his shoulder. Aroni immediately got up, and looked around to see if the biker was okay, which he was. Friends and neighbors gathered around to see what was all the commotion. While Aroni thinks he broke his toe, he is lucky to have video evidence of the crash, or else “so easy for a mob to form and get your car burnt to a crisp here. it happens.” he said. Most of the people who saw the video agree that the biker is at fault, as he shouldn’t have crossed the road so sharply. Keep in mind this is in Kenya, where people ride on the left side of the road.
