Last night, two members of a gang of cholos injured a man with a stone to the head near the Volcanes neighborhood, and then escaped from the scene.

The injured man, identified as Daniel Franco, is receiving medical attention at the Dr. Aurelio Valdivieso General Hospital, where his health condition was reported as serious.

Last Saturday night, members of a gang beat Daniel Franco on the stairs of Cofre de Perote Street in the Volcanes neighborhood, in the city of Oaxaca.

A surveillance camera captured the moment they beat the man, finishing him off with a stone on two occasions, then immediately escaped from the scene.

The victim was left lying in a pool of blood, so local residents called for help from rescue teams.

Minutes later, volunteer paramedics arrived at the scene and transferred him to the Civil Hospital, where he was admitted and his health condition is reported to be serious.
