An elderly man decided to take his own life in the centre of Banfield. It happened on Monday, minutes before noon, at the exit of the underpass on Chacabuco Street. The elderly man threw himself under a logistics truck and died instantly. Now the justice system is trying to find the driver who continued driving despite the shock caused by the accident.

The images and disinterest of hundreds of motorists who continued the march, avoiding the body of the grandfather who decided to take his own life on the way back from the 2nd police station in Lomas de Zamora, a few meters from Adolfo Alsina Avenue, are striking.

Judicial sources told SM Noticias that the driver was identified and a lawyer, on his behalf, appeared before officials of UFI No. 10 of Lomese to learn more about the case and state that his client is legally entitled.

However, the title is still that of “wrongful homicide,” so prosecutor Carlos Persico is awaiting the results of the autopsy and testimonies from the victim's relatives to determine if the title is “suicide,” which would exonerate the truck driver.

However, it is expected that the truck, belonging to the “Transporte López” logistics, will be delivered to justice to carry out the required tests
