Mich. – While severe winter weather hit Michigan late Wednesday into Thursday morning, multiple vehicle crashes and slide-offs were reported—including a crash involving first responders.

At around 8:30 a.m. on Dec. 12, 2024, first responders were helping at the scene of a crash on eastbound I-94 in Comstock Township when a box truck overturned and struck three Comstock fire vehicles and a Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office patrol car.

The box truck driver was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. No one else was injured in the crash, according to the sheriff’s office.
