The Dutch Government wants to shut down 30% of farms to "save the environment from nitrogen." The air is 78% nitrogen. Many micro-organisms in the soil can turn nitrogen into nitrate or ammonium that plants use to green up the planet more. Some believe the real agenda is to shut down these farms so that housing can be built which can then be taxed and make the government more money than the farms would. The Netherlands is the 2nd largest agricultural exporter in the world. The mainstream media is completely ignoring the protests as they know that if they report on it people in the cities will protest in support of the farmers. The people will find it anyway about the protest thanks to the internet and empty shelves at supermarkets.
