A 21-year-old man was killed after being shot multiple times at a Spirit Halloween store in Madison Heights, near Detroit, around 2:04pm on October 30.

The Detroit resident had been arguing with another 21-year-old man from Oak Park whom he knew before the shooting broke out, according to the Madison Heights Police Department.

When authorities arrived at the scene, they found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and administered first aid until emergency medical personnel arrived.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Police said they located a 'person of interest' and recovered a 9mm handgun that may have been used in the shooting.

The person of interest, a 21-year-old from Oak Park, had also sustained injuries after several bystanders assaulted him before officers took him into custody.

The suspected shooter was transported to a different local hospital, where he is currently receiving medical care.
