A violent robbery in the south of Bogotá ended in a shootout , and the incident was recorded on video. The incident occurred around 6:00 a.m. in the El Claret neighborhood, in the town of Rafael Uribe Uribe.

In the images captured by local residents, several criminals on motorcycles can be seen trying to rob a citizen. The tension increases when one of the women accompanying the victim shouts to the thief: “Hand over your keys.” The citizen, upon hearing the threat, dodges the criminal and runs to the place where one of his accomplices had already climbed onto the motorcycle they were trying to steal.

The victim, without thinking twice, heads towards his vehicle and pushes one of the robbers, who falls to the ground next to the vehicle, while neighbours shout for help. The other two criminals, who were waiting on the motorcycles, are forced to abandon the robbery attempt and flee the scene. However, one of them is also knocked off his motorcycle, leaving only one robber with the possibility of escaping.

The video shows that the four thieves tried to flee on the same motorcycle, but were caught by the victims, who even beat them. In the midst of the struggle, the citizen managed to avoid the theft of his belongings, although a violent shootout ensued which, fortunately, left no one injured.

Although the violent incident was recorded, the victim has not filed a formal complaint. The authorities, for their part, are looking for the criminals, who have apparently already been identified.
