The man had earlier stole the knife from a butchers stall at a local market. He proceeded to chase terrified shoppers around trying to stab them.

The police turned up and a 10 minute stand off ensued. When approached, the officer fired several warning shots but to no avail. Immediately after being shot he was handcuffed and taken to hospital.

There wasn't any info on where he was shot, or his condition.
