A confrontation in which shots were heard occurred inside the Pedro Juan Caballero Penitentiary. It was confirmed that it left four dead and three injured. Police officers, firefighters and agents from the Joint Task Force (FTC) arrived at the scene.Authorities later confirmed a confrontation between imprisoned criminal groups , so FTC troops acted to stop the fight in the jail. Forensic doctor César González confirmed that four dead were found. These are Pedro Javier Cabañas , Ignacio de Jesús Barrios, Óscar David Riquelme and Óscar Melida Gómez. A gunshot wound was detected in one of them. González added that three more inmates were injured . Two have already returned from the hospital because they suffered minor injuries, while a third remains hospitalized with a gunshot wound. The bodies were taken to a private university for an inspection and to confirm the causes of their deaths.The confirmed names of the injured are: Roque Andrés Giménez Benítez, member of the First Capital Command (PCC) and a Brazilian named Edson Figueredo Medina.
