The shooting happened about 1:35 a.m. Sunday near South Layton Boulevard and West Becher Street in Milwaukee.

According to police, officers from Greenfield shot and killed a man after he fled a traffic stop and crashed.

Investigators said the man, identified by family members as Tyran Lamb, fired a gun at officers first.

Man shot a 36-year-old Greenfield officer.

He has three years' of experience with the department.

They said he was shot in the chest, hand and thigh and was in critical but stable condition.

Two other Greenfield officers returned fire, hitting 31-year-old Lamb.

Cellphone video appears to show the moments after Lamb crashed his car.

In it, an officer appears to shout "Hands up" at least twice before three shots are fired.

It's not clear who fired those shots.

Seconds later, someone can be heard saying "I'm hit," meaning they had been shot.
