Two motorcyclists died in a traffic accident on the East Cross Road ( Jalintim ), Sukadana Ilir Village, Sukadana District, East Lampung, Saturday.

The victims were AE (25), a resident of Tanjung Sari District, South Lampung and his colleague NR (27), a resident of Sukadana District, East Lampung.

Head of Traffic Accidents Unit of East Lampung Police, Bripka Beniditus, said that the traffic accident on Jalintim occurred at around 22.30 WIB.

Before the incident, the Honda Vario motorbike BE 4454 PS ridden by AE with NR as a passenger was traveling from Sukadana towards Purbolinggo.

When crossing Jalan Desa Sukadana Ilir, it is suspected that the victim was trying to overtake the vehicle in front of him.

Then from the opposite direction a Colt Diesel truck BE 8722 JD appeared, driven by SW (55).

The truck hit a motorcycle and lost control. The vehicle stopped after hitting a fence of a resident's house.

"The victim was taken to Sukadana General Hospital. The truck driver has been secured for further examination," said Bripka Beniditus representing the Head of Traffic Unit of East Lampung Police, AKP Glend Felix Siagian.
