Langkawi Legendary Ride rider dies in collision while trying to avoid a collision.

Langkawi: A participant in the Langkawi Legendary Ride (LLR) died after being involved in an accident while pedaling in the cycling race here this morning.

The victim, Low Beng Seng, 28, was confirmed dead from severe head injuries in the incident that occurred at 8.45am on Jalan Kuala Muda.

Langkawi District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Shariman Ashari said initial investigations found that the victim, who was cycling with a group of cyclists in the 68-kilometre category (Eagle Ride), was trying to avoid colliding with other participants.

"However, the victim was thrown into the opposite lane before colliding with a vehicle from the front."
