Newly-released police dash-cam video of a pursuit of a stolen car shows the thief striking an officer with the vehicle before the thief drove away.But a teen passenger who got out of the car during the confrontation was taken into custody.A car stolen by teens back in September eventually got away from police, but not before the driver struck an officer who was pursuing the vehicle.The incident happened in September, beginning on Coburg Road and ending in the 1300 block of Picard Road, where the road stops at a dead end.The video shows the end of the pursuit, when the driver of the stolen car drives onto someone's front yard. The car stops momentarily, the teen passenger gets out, the car drives in reverse, an officer runs toward the car, which strikes the officer before driving away.A woman who did not want to be identified urged parents to be hands on with their kids Thursday after video was released of a police pursuit of a car stolen by teens, a pursuit that ended on that woman's street.The officer was treated at a local hospital, but was not seriously injured. The stolen car was later found abandoned, and the passenger was taken into custody.
