The Metro Nashville Police Department has released body camera footage from an officer involved shooting that took place Sunday night.

Sunday night at 6:40 Metro Communications received a 911 call reporting a man was walking on Buchanan Street waving a gun and yelling. Officers were dispatched to the scene.

The video, posted to the MNPD YouTube, shows an officer leave his car and walk toward a man standing on a sidewalk in North Nashville. The man walks away from the officer who approaches him. The man walks into a dark area near a storefront and in the video you can hear the officer yell for the man to "drop the gun," before firing multiple shots.

As the officer approaches the man who is now on the ground, other officers begin to arrive on scene. They can be seen in the last minutes of released video giving the man medical treatment.
