Many fans became violent after their team lost. At least 174 people have died, with many others being injured from this incident. In response to the massive gathering, police fired tear gas against the invadors.

Further speaking, this action from the police sparked controversy among many people. They were not impressed about the decision to spray tear gas, as it reached many innocent spectators from the stadium and led to breathing difficulty which caused them to panic by trying to run away. It was also considered to be unlawful by additional viewers, as this is against Fifa’s guidelines.
