Self-confidence and ignoring traffic rules turned into a tragedy for a pensioner from Feodosia. Trying to cross the road running, the woman ended up under the wheels of a shuttle bus. Law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Crimea shared details of the incident.According to the Republican State Traffic Inspectorate, the accident with public transport occurred the day before at 15:01 on Oktyabrskaya Street in Feodosia. It is preliminarily known that the pensioner tried to cross the road at an unregulated pedestrian crossing when she was hit by a city bus "PAZ Vector Next" driven by a driver born in 1959."A 63-year-old woman was crossing the roadway at a running pace from the edge of the sidewalk. She did not assess the distance and speed of the approaching vehicle, and did not make sure that the crossing would be safe for her," explained Vladislav Donskoy, acting head of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Feodosia.As a result of the collision with the city bus, an elderly Crimean woman received injuries incompatible with life. The forty-odd passengers of the bus, who, as specified by the prosecutor's office of the Republic of Crimea, were in the cabin at the time of the accident, were not injured.Currently, employees of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea continue to work at the scene of the incident. They will have to clarify all the circumstances of the accident. The republican prosecutor's office has also organized an additional investigation and control over the progress of the case.
