Previously, at about 11 p.m. on February 9, due to a personal conflict, Pham Van Kien drove a motorbike carrying a knife about 30cm long to meet Le Manh Hung, residing in Hung Thang village, Gia Phu commune, Bao Thang district. When he arrived, Kien used a knife to stab him multiple times, causing Hung to die on the spot. After committing the crime, Kien fled the scene.

Using professional measures, the police quickly determined that after committing the crime, the motorbike driver escaped along Highway 4E towards Lao Cai city and within 48 hours after the crime. At 7:00 a.m. this morning, the Si Ma Cai District Police reconnaissance force arrested Kien while hiding at an internet cafe in the area.

At the police station, Kien confessed to all the crimes. The quick arrest of criminals has contributed to stabilizing the security and order situation, demonstrating the high determination of the Police force to ensure security and order for the people to enjoy Tet and welcome Spring safely.
