Suspect falls from 9th floor while trying to break into apartment in residential building

A man fell from a balcony on the 9th floor of a building after breaking into a condominium in the Chácara Antonieta neighborhood, in Limeira (SP) . The incident occurred on Friday night (5) and the man was admitted to a hospital.

A video shows the moment when the man was outside, near a window, and falls. He hits a roof and then a police car and is knocked unconscious on the ground (watch above) .

The suspect was rescued and taken to Santa Casa de Limeira for medical care. His health condition was not reported.

According to the police report, a service provider for the condominium reported to the Military Police that he saw the man descending through the "shaft", which is a space within the structure usually used to house pipes. After noticing the intrusion, the worker locked the doors and called for help.

The suspect is believed to be inside one of the apartments. The Military Police searched all the floors and the roof, but the man had broken the door and left the premises.

During the investigation, the agents heard screams from the residents and a louder noise. The teams went to the ground floor of the building and saw the suspect lying on the floor, with several fractures and bleeding, after having fallen from the 9th floor of the building.

According to the Military Police, the suspect was trying to enter one of the apartments through the balcony when he fell. In the fall, he also hit the back of a police vehicle and damaged the vehicle.

The case was registered as a home invasion. The suspect's motivation for entering the apartment will be investigated.
