Scary moments for people outside an Ascension Parish bar on Friday, June 16.

According to the Ascension Parish Sherriff’s Office, a driver backed their truck into a crowd of people, slamming into the front of Tiger Tavern Daiquiris on Highway 44 in Gonzales.

Deputies arrested Micca Dotson, 32, of Prairieville, on third offense DWI, hit and run, reckless operation, aggravated criminal damage to property, disturbing the peace, and vehicular negligent injuring.

The video shows the incident from three different angles.

The front of the building sustained damage, with wood planks reading, “Front door broke, back door open.”

Another plank reads, “We are open.”

Whitney Tomlinson was there when a Dotson crashed his truck into the Tiger Tavern in Gonzales on Friday night.

“He was out for blood. He was out to hurt somebody that night,” said Whitney Tomlinson.

Tomlinson says the owner had been trying to put him out for being disruptive to bartenders.

“I knew they were kicking him out a second time because he had come back in. He was yelling at us outside,” Tomlinson said.
