The Milwaukee Police Department released body camera footage of the fatal officer involved shooting that occurred on August 16, 2021, on the 2500 block of North 27th Street. On Monday, at approximately 3:50 p.m., Milwaukee Police officers were dispatched to a subject with gun incident on the 2500 block of N. 27th Street. The caller stated an individual had a gun and was pointing it at people. Upon arrival, officers encountered an armed individual and gave him commands to drop the gun. The individual refused to drop his gun and pointed his firearm at officers. Three officers discharged their firearms, subsequently striking the individual. Officers administered life-saving measures; however, the suspect, a 42-year-old Milwaukee man, was pronounced deceased on scene. No one else was injured as a result of the gunfire. The suspect's firearm was recovered. The officers involved in this incident are a 32-year-old male officer with over 4 years of service, a 26-year-old male officer with over 5 years of service and a 29-year-old male officer with over 5 years of service.
