A violent fight involving three people moved from Anspachlaan into Brussels’ Bourse pre metro station around 6:20 a.m. on July 30. Police say one man was repeatedly struck in the face and body with a hammer and left seriously injured on the platform.Two people were hospitalized. The main victim was initially in critical condition but later stabilized and was no longer considered in life threatening danger. Two people were arrested at the scene, including the man seen holding the hammer.The station was closed for much of the day. Tram lines 4 and 10 were temporarily suspended between Lemonnier and Gare du Nord.Authorities have not released the identities or nationalities of those involved. The motive remains under investigation. Online claims describing the incident as a migrant robbery have not been officially confirmed.
