Tampa, FL - Tampa police officers are searching for two suspects after an armed robbery injured two people, one critically.

Three masked men entered the Nebraska Food Mart at 7508 N. Nebraska Ave. about 9:40 p.m. Thursday. They pistol whipped a clerk and emptied three registers, police said.

The robbery was captured by video surveillance camera.

The suspects encountered 43-year-old Tomas Cruz, who cleans the parking lot and shot him in the neck, police said.

Antoinette Borgess saw it happen. "He was shot in the face. But they said he was still breathing, whenever I yelled over there to make sure he was still alive."

He was taken to Tampa General Hospital in critical condition, but is expected to survive.

During the encounter, one of the suspects was shot by an accomplice, police said. He was taken into custody and hospitalized with an upper body injury.

He's is identified as 32-year-old Wilson Lopez. He will be charged with armed robbery when he is medically cleared.

The two other suspects remain at large.
