A mother and son are facing criminal charges in connection with an armed robbery in Berkeley County.

Melinda Ann Legette, 43, is charged with attempted murder, armed robbery with a deadly weapon, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. William Hugh Starkey, 23, is charged with armed robbery with a deadly weapon, assault and battery in the third degree, domestic violence in the second degree, two counts of failure to stop for blue lights, two counts of violation of probation, trafficking methanide / crank / crack cocaine, breach of trust, and forgery (no dollar amount), according to the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office (BCSO).

Starkey was apprehended following a vehicular pursuit with the BCSO, Jamestown Police Department (JPD), and United States Marshals Service (US Marshals). The pursuit was captured by a Charleston County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) helicopter and can be viewed below:

According to the BCSO, deputies were notified on May 16 that Legette and Starkey were wanted in Jamestown. Leggett was apprehended by the BCSO, JPD, and US Marshals the same day after a foot chase.
