A 19-year-old man died and two young women were injured after an accident on the “Expresso do Amor” ride at Crazy Park, located at the Itaipava Exhibition Park, in the Serrana Region of Rio de Janeiro. The tragedy occurred in the early hours of Saturday, May 3.The victims were rescued by teams from the park itself and taken to the Emergency Care Unit (UPA) in Itaipava. João Victor Souza Trindade da Silva, a resident of Miguel Pereira, succumbed to his injuries and died at the unit. The two young women who accompanied him suffered bruises and were discharged during the early hours of the morning.After the incident, the City of Petrópolis revoked the park's operating license on the morning of the same day. The site remains closed. The organizers of Expo Petrópolis, which holds events at the same venue, stated that they have no connection with the amusement park.Crazy Park reported that it provided immediate care to the victims and assured that it is offering assistance to their families. He also stated that he follows all safety protocols required by law and that he is cooperating with the investigation.The Civil Police carried out an expert analysis at the scene and opened an inquiry to determine the cause of the accident. Witnesses are being interviewed and the investigation is ongoing.João Victor was the son of an employee of the Municipal Department of Education of Miguel Pereira. The City Hall issued a note of condolence lamenting the death of the young man and expressing solidarity with his family.
