he outrage over the wave of assaults on taxis in the extension of the northern fifth and the Cueva del Tigre neighborhood led the inhabitants to organize to arrest the alleged criminals , a man and a woman. The situation escalated quickly when the mob decided to take the law into their own hands.

Several cases of assaults on taxi drivers had been reported in the area, generating fear and unrest among the inhabitants. Given the apparent ineffectiveness of the authorities to contain these crimes , the population chose to organize and monitor the streets to identify those allegedly responsible.

The alleged thieves were arrested , tied up and subjected to a lynching that lasted more than two hours. The mob , armed with whips, sticks and machetes, beat the accused in an act of violence that shows the frustration and anger accumulated by the lack of security in the area.

Despite the intervention of police units that arrived to negotiate the release of the detainees , the population did not give in and decided to take justice into their own hands . The mob expressed their exhaustion with insecurity , pointing out that they are tired of the attacks and the apparent impunity that surrounds these cases.

Finally, the alleged thieves were released hours later, but not before being warned by the population that, if they repeat criminal activities , they will face more severe consequences. Those released were badly injured, making clear the community's message regarding crime.
