A school in Nova Lima, in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte, received an unusual visit this Saturday morning. This visit was not a new teacher or a student. The unexpected visitor was a large wild animal: a jaguar.

According to the military, the presence of the animal was noticed when a recreational activity was carried out on the school's court, located in the Parque Santo Antônio neighborhood. The beast was hidden in a bathroom. Despite the scare, no one was hurt.

The fire department was called around 11 am. To help with the capture and sedation, the Military Environmental Police was also called.

At around 12 pm, firefighters reported that they were able to safely confine the animal to the locker room. About two hours later, the capture was carried out.

According to firefighters, the jaguar is apparently healthy and without injuries. She was released into the forest.
