The sheriff’s office says deputies were patrolling Beacon Meadows Park and encountered a man, identified as Anthony Carpenter, that had been trespassed from the park on Saturday.

According to officials, Carpenter refused to leave, and Tasers were used on him. While on the ground, he shot at deputies three times, hitting one deputy.

The deputy was not critically injured.

Body camera video released later Sunday shows the moment the deputy was shot. Officials say the bullet hit the deputy's shoulder microphone, which kept him from being seriously hurt.

"When he fell to the ground he fired from his jacket," said Chief Deputy Joseph Maurer with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. "A weapon from his firearm, a revolver and he shot three times striking deputy Carr Craig in the shoulder mic."

Carpenter was arrested at the scene. He faces multiple charges including attempted first degree murder of a law enforcement officer.
