"New video released to us by the Minnesota DOT shows a crash between a passenger vehicle and a Freightliner semi on northbound I-35 in Lakeville around 11:15 a.m. Thursday, July 1. The State Patrol said that a 90-year-old Burnsville man was in a 2009 Lincoln MKZ on the right shoulder near 210th St. when he crossed into the lanes of traffic, colliding with the semi. Both vehicles came to rest in the right ditch after rolling off the shoulder.

The Patrol said the driver of the MKZ had life-threatening injuries and was transported to HCMC. An update on his condition is not available. The driver of the semi, a 58-year-old man from Burnsville, had non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.

Traffic was shut down for hours after the collision as crews investigated and cleared the wreckage."
