Great moments of tension and adrenaline were experienced on Thursday afternoon in San Juan de Miraflores . A subject, armed with a saber and in an apparent state of disorder, faced off face to face with officers of the Peruvian National Police (PNP); the same ones who were forced to use their service weapon to subdue him.

The confrontation took place in the Laderas de Villa residential area, where police officers arrived after a citizen called to alert them that her ex-partner was trying to rape her . The name of this aggressor is Norvil Durand Rodríguez, 26 years old.

In an attempt to prevent any tragedy, law enforcement officers urged neighbors to stay inside their homes, because the angry subject could attack them.

Despite being cornered by at least three police officers, the man did not hesitate to confront them and always maintained an offensive stance, using the knife to defend himself from an attempted capture .
