Deputy Mayor Luis Alfonso Flórez, 34, and patrolman Rusbel Alexander Lesmes, 26, were killed after being shot by snipers in a renowned establishment in the municipality of Cartagena del Chairá, in Caquetá.General Wharlinton Gualdrón, national head of the police service, explained that the uniforms had left on the night of Monday, January 5 "to take a tour of the municipality. They made a stop at this place, which is an establishment open to the public, where they interacted with some people."The officers were around a table talking when alleged snipers fired indiscriminately at their humanity."That's where they take advantage of these criminals to kill these two police officers," said Gen. Gualdrón.Two other uniformed personnel and a civilian were injured and Dr. Liliana de la Cruz, medical director of the Medilaser Clinic in Florence, reported on her health condition."Johan Fabián Márquez Sousa, 38, has a wound at the right atrial pavilion level and at the neck level. The next patient, 33-year-old John Ferney Suárez Taborda, has a head-level wound at the occipital region level, and the 29-year-old patient Franklin Londoño Cantillo has a trauma to the shoulder and facial level."The authorities of the municipality of Cartagena del Chairá decreed a curfew from 12 p.m. until 6 a.m. in the coming days, while the events are being investigated.
