A 17-year-old teenager killed his mother with a piece of wood, reportedly after arriving home whilst high on drugs. The victim was taken to the municipal hospital in Coreaú, but could not resist her injuries and died on admission.

After the crime, the suspect tried to flee, but was eventually apprehended by neighbors who called the military police. The teenager reportedly told police that he had killed his mother due to being on drugs.
