On July 23, 2024, at 9:30 in the morning, a group of criminals disguised as police officers robbed the Franco Italian Jewelry Store, located in the San José Plaza Shopping Center in Bucaramanga.

Five people participated in the robbery; two were wearing uniforms similar to those of the National Police, and another was wearing a uniform of the delivery company Servientrega.

According to preliminary information, the armed robbers, after intimidating the store's staff, managed to steal a loot of jewelry worth up to $500 million, although the amount has not yet been officially determined. Witnesses present at the La Isla Shopping Center, located in front of the scene, recorded the moment when the criminals ran down the stairs in their attempt to escape.
