The village transportation vehicle with license plate number G 1213 OR, heading from Bumiayu to Buaran, had just been repaired at a workshop in Pamijen before the accident occurred.

The test drive was conducted by the owner of the vehicle together with a mechanic and students who were doing Field Work Practice (PKL).

In the video recording, the owner of the vehicle, Mubarok, can be seen doing a test drive towards Tonjong, with mechanic Amir sitting next to him. At the back of the vehicle, there are five passengers who were later identified as students from SMK Maarif NU Paguyangan.
